Forex trading questions?

The USD/JPY is trading now at about 80.4900 so how much would it cost me to buy 3000 shares of that currency? Also how much money am i required to have to day trade Forex? Because i know you need like 20 grand to day trade stocks. I have been trading stocks now for a couple months and i have a good trading strategy down using MA stochastic and a couple other indicators but will they still be effective in forex trading? Thank You.

First of all Welcome to the forum. I share my daily analysis from my account executive, which shows the trend that is keeping the Yen these days. Which invites us to carefully manage our movements:

The dollar traded in narrow ranges against major currencies in operations in Asia today morning after Friday's losses. The dollar's gains could see limited this week before the conference the Fed chairman, Ben Bernanke on Friday.

The euro remains under pressure against the Swiss franc, and remains in a range against the dollar. Concerns about the debt crisis and the absence of an immediate solution to the currency prevents solidifying.

The yen remains near record highs against the dollar, the pair is trading below 77.00 on Friday after touching the lowest price at 75.95.
